iPhone Chrome on iOS: any way to make tabs view vertical (like Safari)?

I've just switched from Android to iPhone and I really really hate the grid layout of tabs in Chrome. It's very annoying to browse and clicking the small "x" to close them in a nightmare. I want to change the layout to something like Safari - a column of tabs that you can close by swiping to the side. And Chrome on Android actually does operate in this way.

Is there any way to do this?
