iPhone Chrome opens a new tab every time I load the app

Is this a bug or is there some setting I'm missing?

It's extremely annoying. I have 25 tabs open now because it keeps opening a new one every time I load the app. (Running the latest version).

Can't reproduce it here. Every time I open Chrome on iOS, it just opens to the same condition it was in last time I left it. iOS 14.7 Chrome for iOS version 92.0.4515.90

Maybe try uninstalling and re-installing the app. Also, are you signed into your Google account within the app? I wonder if that might have something to do with it.

I am signed in with my Google account. I'll try reinstalling it.

So I reinstalled it, signed in with my Google account, and disabled the option to sync "open tabs". It is working now and no longer opens a new tab every time I load the app.
