Anyone else having problems with Chrome Remote Desktop not working on Monterey? I want to remote into my mac, and while the installation on the max works and I can remote for a while, it will not work after a few hours. On the mac it says “Remote Desktop needs to be reinstalled”.

Are you using the Chrome extension or Chrome standalone app?

The standalone app was working fine for me on my Intel Mac. Never used the extension on that machine. It stopped working on my M1 Max Mac but the extension is working fine on M1.

I'm using the installation from this page https://remotedesktop.google.com/support/

Is this the extension? I have a M1 Pro on MacBook Pro, running Monterey 12.01
That's the extension and it's working fine for me on my M1, MacOS 12.0.1.

Did you re-install the M1 version of Chrome on your M1? If you migrated from an Intel Mac, you'll want to re-install most of your apps for the native M1 version.

Yes I have the M1 version of Chrome. I didn't migrate when I setup my Mac. There seems to be a Reddit thread where others are having the same problem.

I re-read what you originally wrote and I might not be using it the same way as you. I'm using my M1 Mac to connect to my Windows PC at work and don't have any problems.

I think it's broken for everyone. I'm having the same issue. There is no standalone CRD app, it's an extension. You install it, it works, then it magically stops a few minutes later.

Fingers crossed....it appears to be fixed now?

There's a new install of CRD that seems to resolve it (fingers crossed as well, but it's stayed up longer than it did before)
