Chrome runs really bad on my M1

So I downloaded chrome since it has some apps I use that Safari currently does not support - and it runs like a**. Choppy, slow and drained my battery absurdly quickly. A mile of a difference compared to Safari. This was on the ARM-based version.

Anyone else experienced this?

Actually, I found the opposite. Safari could handle Google Meet but Chrome could.

I have the same feeling for chrome on my Intel Macs as well?

Nope, Chrome runs fine for me with many tabs open and several extensions installed.
