Anyone have any recent experience with this game? I'm wondering if it runs well nowadays on 10.8.3 or if it has any known problems, crashes, etc. It was kinda hard to get a feeling for this looking at feedback on the App Store. The game hasn't seen an update for two years now but maybe it hasn't needed one either.

I'd be playing it on a mid-2011 27" iMac with 12 gigs RAM and 6970m GPU with 10.8.3 if I buy it.

The game worked fine in Lion on the 17" 2010 Macbook Pro, but seized to run completely with Mountain Lion (10.8.0).

I contacted the support and they were aware of the problem, but blamed Apple, stating there was nothing they could do.

I have not tried the game since. I'll install it again and post results.:)

How can they sell apps that don't work?

Excellent question. It should be pulled from the App Store if that is true.

Just to clarify, I mean if it is known to be broken and unfixable for any and all versions of Mountain Lion it ought to be pulled off the store.

If this is the case, they should at least post a warning on the game page in bold letters stating the game does not work in 10.8. I am fine with them still making the game available to others, but they need to let players know before they put down their money.

To quote the email I received from the support almost a year ago:

"We have confirmed this is a graphics driver problem, Apple messed up big time. It's affecting many of our games (and not only ours, afaik) and we hope to find some workaround soon, but I cannot tell how much longer will it take. Sorry for not having better news and thank you for your patience."

I forgot to leave the game downloading overnight, so I am only about half way through at the moment. Will test it as soon as it is downloaded.:)

UPDATE: I just installed it and did a test run. While it sits a good while on the dock at first, the game launches eventually. In-game loading takes only a couple of seconds.

Both Riddick games now work, but I am experiencing a graphic glitch on my system. The issue is with some lighting tones not being rendered properly, resulting in rather dim visuals. I am running the game on the 17" mid-2010 Macbook Pro with GT330m, so it may vary from system to system. Best to contact support about this.:)

But yeah, definitely an improvement since 10.8.0. However, it's still not perfect without a further fixing.
