Cinema Display Mini DisplayPort not working with Thunderbolt

I can't seem to figure this out: I have a Cinema Display, the one with a Mini DisplayPort. I haven't used it in a few months and went to use it a week ago. I plugged the Mini DisplayPort into my 2013 MBP Thunderbolt port and nothing happened. It won't turn on.

I've checked that the power cable is plugged in properly; it is to the monitor and wall. I borrowed a power cable from another monitor that works and still no sign of life.

Anyone have a clue what happened? Maybe I'm just completely missing something...
