Cintiq windows drivers on a mac?

Hello

I have a very odd problem I have a cintiq tablet (a screen where I can draw onto and it inputs into pc) My problem is the os x drives don't seem to work for me I have email wacom and posted on the support forum and I seem to be ignored. The tablet works Fine in Windows But in os x The pointer and pen tip are off not matter how many times I set up the software (unless os x has hidden pointer stuff)

So my question is Can I run 1 screen/software in windows with parrels/fusion using windows drivers + screen settings (os x seems to lock my on screen display settings) I could use boot camp but once you use mac I cant really go back to windows full time and its only photoshop and zbrush I need to work. I have googled and cant seem to find much info can anyone help me?

I had the same problem.. I called Wacom and they had me going within 5 minutes... i uninstalled the driver that came on the cd and installed the new driver from their website. It works fine now.

Cursor and pen alignment issues on MacPro

I came across this post and your previous one regarding your Cintiq with the cursor and pen alignment issue. I'm experiencing the same problem with my Cintiq and MacPro I recently purchased for my home studio. No matter how I calibrate my Cintiq, the cursor to pen alignment is always a bit off, about a 1/8 inch offset or less. When I move my pen across the tablet, say top left corner to bottom right corner, the cursor also tends to migrate from the left side of the pen tip to the right. So the cursor offset isnt always in the same place in relationship to the pen. I know some people like to have their cursor offset from the pen, but its not what I'm used to. I have the same model Cintiq at work running on a Dell XPS and my pen and cursor are aligned perfectly.

The first time I emailed Wacom's support, they suggested trying a calibration technique and if that didnt work to uninstall the driver and download the most current one from their site. Unfortunately neither of those two suggestions worked. Out of curiosity, I decided to bring my Cintiq into work and tested it on my Dell XPS. As soon as I made the connection and powered up, the cursor and pen were perfectly aligned even without calibration! That was a surprise. That told me that my Cintiq was fine, but there was something wrong with my Mac or maybe my video card?

I emailed Wacom a second time to tell them about my results and if they had any other suggestions? Its been a few days and I have yet to get a reply to that email, so this morning I gave them a call. I was asked to do a few simple tests and to re-calibrate my Cintiq. According to the support tech, my Cintiq was "behaving" properly. He also said that a certain amount of offset was acceptable and that 100% alignment couldnt be guaranteed do to the layers of glass and parallaxing. So I asked him why my PC was more accurate than my Mac? He said they should both be the same but didnt know why the werent. At this point he was all out of answers. I asked if I should talk to nVidia or Apple? He said "no" because they would more than likely send me back to Wacom.

In this post you mention that your Cintiq works fine under Windows? Is it XP or Vista? I have yet to get Windows. Have you discovered anything else? Any Mac drivers? Is your Cintiq still off alignment on the Mac OS side? Any tidbits of information you could share would be greatly appreciated.

I run the 20WSX Cintiq on my Mac Pro and have not experienced the problem described here. I did read in another forum that resetting the double click distance in the Wacom preferences "cures" the offset cursor problem.

Anyone here running a Mac Pro with a Cintiq having crashing issues?

I have a Mac Pro Early 2008 and running a Cintiq 20 WSX. Mac OS X have been crashing frequently for a number of weeks now. Sometimes it's a daily occurence!

The message on the console says it's the Wacom Tablet Driver that is causing the crash.

I have gotten a response from Wacom Support telling me to remove the tablet driver, do a repair disk permission, do a fresh install of the latest driver and trash the old tablet preferences. I have done these procedures but I still get a crash.

I usually run Adobe Flash CS3 on the Mac Pro and with the Cintiq.


It has gotten so frequent that I installed a new hard drive, did a fresh install of OS X on that, reinstalled Adobe Flash and the Cintiq. Would you believe, I am not even five minutes into working on a scene when it crashed again?

OS version is 10.5.3.

Any opinions would help, thanks!

Mac Pro & Cintiq

Sorry to hear about your crashing issues. Haven't experienced the same. I'm no techie so I dont know if this helps but I came across some info while trying to solve my own issues.

You mentioned that you have an early 2008 Mac Pro, what video card do you have installed? Have you tried to upgrade to the nVidia 8800 GT? Apparently that card was a newly available option for newer Mac Pros like mine, but not for the early 2008 ones. They have an upgrade kit for the early versions now.

I've read about Tom Richmond's issue. My Mac Pro is not even more than three months old so I don't think my graphics card is as dusty. But when I opened it up recently to install that new harddrive for the fresh install of Mac OS X, I gave it a quick blast of compressed air for good measure

My graphics card is the stock ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT. I am hesitant to spend for an upgrade to the Nvidia card because when I first ran the Mac Pro and Cintiq together, I had no problems for a month.

The only thing I did was I updated to 10.5.3. I think it was during that time that the issue started to appear, but I am not so sure.

I might do another fresh install of everything because the crashes are occuring again to the point that it's unworkable now. I work in constant fear that a crash might occur anytime!
