I know you can add ability for the iPhone to use and accept new protocols (ie: ssh, vnc) so I began to wonder.
Are there any apps out there for a jailbroken iPhone that allow the phone to connecting using the correct IPSec settings that work with most Cisco VPN concentrators?
I would love for my iPhone to be able to get on my network.

We have two alternate ways to join our alternate Guest wireless network, both fail.

One: a heartbeat connection. This is where a browser page that I log into must continue to refresh once every 30 seconds, if it fails to refresh on time, the connection is dropped.
This method doesn't work because whenever I move to a different tab or close Safari to move to another app, the page no longer refreshes (like it doesnt run in the background).

Two: ssh connection. This is where I can ssh me@wireless.host.com, enter my password and so long as that ssh connection (shell-less) remains open, the connection to the net stays live.
This is a problem because whenever I close vterm, much like Safari, it seems to stop the connection and no longer runs in the background..

Is there a Cisco VPN type app that will stay connected in the background for me?

Or is there a way to do one of the above two alt methods without the app stopping on me when I move back to the spring board?
