Hello all,

My iMac will be arriving shortly and I'd like to install a Cisco VPN client on it. The version I have is:

vpnclient-darwin-4.9.01.0080-universal-k9.dmg

I know that a Cisco VPN client (not sure which version) caused problems on OSX Tiger:

Has anyone tried Cisco VPN on a Leopard-running iMac? If so, please let me know if there are any problems.

Thanks,

Sabesh.

The current Cisco VPN client (4.9.01.0080) is, in theory, not Leopard compatible yet but runs just fine on Tiger (so you'll be okay provided the imac doesn't come pre-installed with Leopard).

I say 'in theory' because I've seen reports of folks who have gotten it working in Leopard, although it appears that most had it installed and working on Tiger then upgraded, re-using their original profile folder, rather than just doing a fresh install on Leopard. I've not tried this myself yet, so can't comment, but I do know some people are having problems.

Thanks! I posed the question here:

Works fine for me, too. I was surprised, because the Cisco VPN has been broken by every other major OS X release.

When I upgraded to Leopard, I also installed Shimo (http://www.nexumoja.org/projects/Shimo/), a front-end to the VPN client that's much more convenient to use. Definitely worth checking out.
