Hello,

I tried Cities in Motion which is a new game, You can buy it on Steam and it's for Mac OS Too.
Anyways after you learn the tutorial and you understand how to do things it can be a really fun and challenging game, I suggest you to try it.
website: http://www.citiesinmotion.com/

If you've already tried it, Write what you think of the game. :)

Yeah, I got it. It reminds me of an old JoWood game that I used to have for PC called Transport Giant where you done the same thing. Setup transport routes and away you went! :D

My only complaint about it is that I've seen a few stops where there can be several hundred people waiting for a bus that arrives 3/4 full and so only takes on a few people each time. Means that you end up jamming that area with so many busses that the whole thing gridlocks. :(

Yeah i know! It's so stressing haha.

Which tells you that buses don't have the capacity for that line. Upgrade to tram, or even better, metro. The basic rule is that if you can't shift the passengers fast enough, then you need something more than simply more vehicles on a route.

Buses (and trams) also cause congestion on the streets, which can lead to huge tailbacks and hence queues of your vehicles sitting there doing nothing. Again, the metro becomes the only real solution at this point.

Yeah but it's very expensive which leads you using cheats :p

Play the game properly! Take out a bank loan, place your metro in the right place and you'll make more money than the loan repayments. If you've got 100+ people waiting at a stop then it's easily enough to have a metro system that will make money and hence recoup the investment.

On a Berlin sandbox I can be turning a profit of over 12k a month with three metro lines, 3 tram lines and a handful of buses.

Shame I only have a 256MB 9600M or I'd be playing this game right now.

I still have Traffic Giant Gold but it doesn't play very well on my Win XP VM unfortunately :(

Yup, on transport infrastructure games like these taking out a loan is almost required. Was doing a spot of Railroad Tycoon 3 earlier and I always issue loads of bonds and stock at the start of the game, then pay it off later when I'm making money hand over fist.

Thats cool there is a Mac version now... I ported it myself with Wineskin and played it awhile when it first came out, I'd guess the 'native' Mac version probably runs better, though it ran just fine for me except a few of the higher graphics options caused crashes.

You've piqued my interest in this. How much is it going for on Steam presently? I'd check myself, but I don't have access to the Steam website right now. >.<

£10.49 on the UK store, was in the summer sale with all DLC earlier in the week :( For the price, it's a fun game - particularly once they patched the traffic shortly after launch. It used to be that gridlock would descend within 10 minutes of starting play, grinding everything to a halt apart from metros. Post patch, you only get gridlock at very busy intersections, which is what you expect.

Still waiting for CITIES XL to be made for mac...

I hate Cities XL. Just...clunky, and a total failure as a Sim City competitor.

Yeah, I didn't like Cities XL either. I wish Maxis could make a new version of SimCity, SimCity Societies was really a dumb game.

I was just looking at this. i might buy it on my pc cause its better then my mac at doing games. Good game? Worth it?

I got it earlier this month. I've been wanting to play a good simulation game for a while. The graphics are nice. I haven't had much time to play around with it yet, though.

Yeah you should get it, and I suggest you getting the Mac version, I've heard they've done good work with it there.
