I don't have a Mac Pro (wish I did) but this is very interesting development for Mac gaming nonetheless. First MacOSX game to officially support 4K monitors?!

From Aspyr's Game Agent Blog:

Civilization V Gets Open CL Update for Mac Pro

P.S. — again, I don't have a Mac Pro, but much love to Aspyr for the 50% discount on Civ5 right now :)

Its 50% off ALL Civilization content, including both expansions :D

We've been working on this for a really long time. As soon as they announced the Mac Pro, we knew we wanted to go over the top. For anyone that is lucky enough to have the MP and a 4K display...its breathtaking.

For everyone else, there are noticeable improvements in both performance and visuals on just about every graphics solution outside of the Intel stuff. :apple:

My order can not come soon enough!

I remember talking to Edwin from Feral regarding using the second GPU for OpenCL and other calculations and I'm damn happy you folks have managed it.

I hope you also get to port Titanfall, I would buy it again just to support you chaps. Even more so if you do something similar in regards to OpenCL, and physics for the game.

Will the DLC work with the Steam version? I'd enjoy trying out Brave New World and Gods and Kings, but $60 for both is a bit steep for me.

Support of nMP's dual GPUs is great news and a very good start. Good job Aspyr. Hopefully more will follow this example.

I just tried the updated version of Civ V on a nMP, 6 Core, 32GB Ram, D700, w/Apple Thunderbolt Display. Very smooth operation even with max detail settings and zoomed all the way out to strategic view. No sense that you are waiting on the hardware at all. Awesome. My all time favorite game just got a lot better.:D

Other Mac games in the works that you guys (Aspyr) are already underway 4K-ing for Mac Pro (and future Macs)? Or you can't share that quite yet?

Head over to GameAgent or MacGameStore to get DLC's compatible with the Steam version. Both sites have the full lineup half off :D
