So, i've had the damn update to Civ 5 showing in the app store for a while now, and I can't update it because it tells me I don't have enough free drive space. I'm on a MBA with 128GB (only 7 GB free at the moment). Tis one of the many reasons i'm waiting for the new MBPR to come out.... The old version of Civ 5 says it's 6.72 GB. I'd assume that the new one was a bit bigger. Would it help if I first deleted the old version... then downloaded the new? Because it seems it must be trying to download the full file, prior to trashing the old. I don't know.... but if I trash the old version, I would have almost 14GB free... would think that should be enough...

Yes. The game needs the space for the old version, the compressed new version, and uncompressed version of the new one, during installation.

Ok, I am going to delete it tomorrow and to install the updated version. Hopefully fits in there.
