Civ IV Graphics Problems

I'm noticing that when selecting my civilization the animated portraits of the people are not displaying properly. Everything else seems to be fine. Anyone else seeing this?

negative. Everything has worked just fine for me. Running on Macbook.

I also have this problem. You either get floating eyes, or just backgrounds...

I put it down to shoddy conversion as well as the general crap performance.

Running it on a 2.4Ghz MBP with 8600GT. Quite amazing how badly it runs on that hardware, all things considered. All patched up too.

Civ 4 has had problems with the 8600M GT ever since the 8600's introduction in the MBPs - Aspyr's stance (which, to my knowledge, has not changed) is simply that they 'don't support the 8600M GT at this time'. Of course, an alternative is to buy the Windows version + Warlords for the same price as the Mac vanilla C4 (which also gives you the option of Beyond the Sword for $20 more), which runs much better on the same hardware than the Mac version.
