Hi,

I have 13" MBP mid 2009 with the RAM upgraded to 8GB. I want to know how Civ V would work on it. Would it work decently even if its without any high end fancy graphics? Thanks.

I wouldn't even try running the game at all.

What is the point of playing games if you have to play them at lowest resolution and settings - personally I would rather not play at all because it is a torture seeing flabby textured characters moving about and you cannot even read text properly in today's games.

Civ IV might work better because it is 2004 game.

Like all of the Civilization games, unless you're running them on the latest hardware it will bog down in the late game after you've revealed most of the map. You can turn down the settings gradually to maintain somewhat the same performance throughout, but as your Civ gets larger it will have less and less of an effect.

Thanks for your replies. I guess I'll skip this game until I get a more powerful machine later on.

I was also wondering if you could suggest some games that have been given very favourable reviews by critics (like Starcraft II) and that can run on my setup (not sure about Starcraft II). I've been playing Team Fortress 2 and that runs fine.

Any idea how Batman Arkham Asylum would run? Thanks again.
