Civilization 5 help?

Whenever i try to start a single player game in civ 5 it gets to the loading screen and stops partway through the dialogue and gives me a message saying that "wine" has encountered and error. Seeing as i don't even know what wine is i was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and knows how to fix it. Thanks, any help is apreciated. I am Currently using a mac 10.5.8

your probably using the Wineskin port....

The "unofficial" Wineskin port, and the official Aspyr port both require 10.6 due to graphics driver bugs in 10.5.
