Next in the Civ series, and with a nod to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, will be a turn based SF colonisation/strategy game.

It's being developed for Windows, Mac and Linux too.

Here's a run down and interview with the developers.

To say I'm stoked would be an understatement of galactic proportions. :)

my first thought was excellent news, but on reading that, my head hurts. sounds far too over complicated for the sake of it, reminds me of the game show joey invented in friends

Easily my most anticipated PC release of the year. Civ 5 is great after BNW but this looks like they've just taken all it's flaws like having a linear tech tree and improved so much on it.
This and Last of Us remastered are two games I'm very excited about!

I also was very excited to hear the news. Ok, same engine as Civ 5 so it won't be completely new but the new setting and non linear techs are already great.

To be honest though, the screenshots I've seen were not impressive AT ALL. Hope this will improve when we get closer to release.

I also hear Aspyr is taking care of this port? Anyone know if this is confirmed?
