Yes, you'll have to enter the code in the box into steam to download the Mac version.

I bought the retail CD for my PC. After buying a new MBA, I loaded Steam to see what was available for Mac's.
To my surprise, Civ V was there is a link to download it to my MBA. Worked flawlessly.
