Clamshell World logo blinking problem

Hey all i'm trying to find out if anyone has come across this before? i tried to turn on a clamshell that i have and it comes to this gray screen with a blinking world logo, i put osx 10.0 in and it does nothing just goes to the folder icon and freezes or just keeps blinking. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I even hold down "c" nothing happens.

ok changed out the HD and still it's doing this any advice from anyone?

The world means it is trying to boot from a network drive. Try booting holding Option and selecting the hard drive. Reseting the PRAM (hold command-optoin-p-r on startup until you hear 3 chimes) might also fix it.
