iPod Classic 160gb Dock

I have an Airplay Speaker with 3.5 jack in. I want to connect my Classic to that, easy, but charge at the same time, hard. Apple Chat say I can't do it? Are they right? Thanks.

It seems like it should work... that's essentially what happens if you were to plug your ipod into a dedicated speaker with dock port.

I think you will be fine as long as the USB port of the dock goes to an AC adapter and not to a computer as the latter might/would trigger sync.
