Has anyone out there with multiple iPads in their household tried using the Classroom app to set up multiple users on an iPad at home, instead of in an actual classroom setting? I'm pretty curious about this, but only have one iPad (and the setup requires two or more, to my understanding)

How do you even download the server side software if you don't have an educational institution account?

It's been different since version 2.0, which is why I ask. It's been massively streamlined to not require the server backend, to my understanding.

Downloaded it. Looks like the Classroom app is designed for actual teaching. It allows you to launch apps on "student" iPads. From what I can see, it doesn't enable multi-user on an iPad.

Really wish Apple would add Profiles (e.g. Personal and Work) and Guest User to the iPad.

Right, this is why I ask if anyone who has access to multiple iPads (and can consequently actually set up student iPads) has been able to use it for multiple users in a non-classroom setting.

Yes, I have access to multiple iPads and I've already tried it. As I mentioned, it allows the teacher to control the students' iPads. It doesn't enable multiple user profiles on the iPad.

Ah, sorry, I'd misunderstood your response. So it doesn't allow multiple student accounts to be used on a single "student" iPad, then, eh? Unfortunate. I'd thought that maybe I'd figured out a clever way to do user accounts. ; )
