Is there a recovery wizard or something so I can clean install mountain lion without the need for a 4GB USB?

First you need to do a ML-Upgrade using the App Store. This will update the Recovery HD as well. If you don't do this, your recovery will restore Lion. Then reboot you Mac while holding CMD + R, then select Disk Utility, wipe Macintosh HD, then install ML over the Internet.

If all else fails; you can always make a small 10 gig partition on your hard drive. Format ur current system drive and boot the install file from the partition. I was at work and had no dvdR or a flash drive big enough on me. Luckily i had an external hard drive and used that.
