Hi everyone. I was wondering if I'd be able to have some advice on cleaning my iMac's keyboard. It has a lot of dust and dirt and is really noticable since it's clear! Have any of you used a vaccum cleaner to suck it all out?

There are different levels of cleaning you can do. You can use a vacuum, or just unplug the keyboard and rub each key with a damp cloth.

You could go as far as taking each key off and getting every bit of dirt beneath the keys. After you give it a good clean i recommend an iSkin. Really helps keep the keyboard clean. And avoids killing the keyboard if you spill a liquid on it.

I recently pulled every single key off my apple pro keyboard (bluetooth). Took about an hour to do but was very effective. Start on the right side of the keyboard (near the arrow keys). The keys pop off quite easily. Just wedge your finger under the key and gently apply upward pressure to pop it off. Be especially careful with the big keys like return, shift, etc. They have a hinge mechanism that is somewhat more fragile.

Also when you're taking off the keys, make sure you order them on your desk/table, this makes it much easier to put it all back together again in the end.

Good luck!
