OK, this might seem like a strange sort of question, but hear me out.
I am planning on upgrading to ML when it is released on my rMBP, however, I would like to do a clean install, which I would then back up with Carbon Copy Cloner, so I have a fresh install cloned, but I would then like to restore all my apps I have installed on Lion.
I am new to upgrading Mac's so I don't know what the options are?
Would the following work?
1. Backup my Current Configuration (Lion & all apps) with Carbon Copy Cloner.
2. Perform fresh install of Mountain Lion.
3. Backup Fresh Mountain Lion installation with Carbon Copy Cloner.
4. Restore Lion Clone (from Step 1).
5. Upgrade Lion to Mountain Lion.
If so, when I tried to restore my Lion Clone (Step 4), can I do this while booted in Mountain Lion, or would I need to boot from an external drive?
I hope this makes some sort of sense?
