What do you mean no cloth came with it? It is a black cloth with an Apple logo on it and I use it all the time to clean my MacBook.

Well if it is only the Santa Rosa models that came with the cloth then if you have it, use it. If you don't, get a soft cloth that won't scratch your computer.

NEVER USE WATER ON A COMPUTER, NEVER!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Apple says to use a lightly damp cloth to clean the screen. And to only use water, and always unplug your laptop with the power off. Not the exact words, but thats what it roughly says in the manual.

This info helps alot, I've had my macbook for a year and i havent cleaned the screen, it looks horrible until now, and for evryone cleaning white macbooks the best way to clean the plastic is with a damp cloth or paper towel with machine off. It feels like new!:apple:

Today, I just bought a new macbook with Leopard (and the new keys... some are switched from the previous macbook version) and there is a black cloth in it (which feels like the same texture as the iKlear cloth I have). I had the first generation macbook that I killed yesterday and no black cloth came with it. So I think the cloth is what generation macbook you have or when you bought it.

Hah!

I could never figure out what that black thing was:eek:! I always thought it seemd like an odd cd case, the way it came in the plastic container. Then I stumbled on this forum and found out what it was! Thanks...:)
