Hey,

my gf has a late '15 imac with 8GB ram (OS: ElCapitan) and just got faced with the problem that Word won't save the doc due low amount of available ram or hard disk space. She's got over 900GB of free disk space so I guess the ram is the problem. There seems to be about 3GB in the cache (somewhat strange since all she basically did was working in a word file).

Never really had that kind of problem myself, so a couple of questions before I do something stupid ;)

- Does the terminal/purge thingy still work in this OS?
- If yes: since she can't save the file, does she lose all the changes made?
- If no: what can be done?
- Any other ideas what causes this / can fix this?

Thanks so much in advance!!

edit: well, could be a Word problem as well I guess. *sigh*

Was a Word related problem *throws hissy fit at MS*
