cleaning keyboard?

Hey guys I have a rev A MBA and I have noticed that the keys on my keyboard are getting shiny from normal use and wear but I was wondering if whether Apple or a third party company had many cleaning solutions that would clean the keyboard?

Hey bud I know first hand Apple Uses iklear to wipe the screens and obviously the keyboards. It's recommeded and I use it for my MBA & iPhone. There's no harsh chemicals in it. (I think it's H2o, but don't quote me on that) . Klean that keyboard. Hope this helped.

Yep. my rev A got that "shiny" keyboard also. I regularly cleaned it with iKlear. but I couldn't get rid of the "shine" That was permanent.

So, with my rev B, I got the MOSHI keyboard cover. It's the thinnest, and easy to type with (not mushy like the thicker keyboard covers) Because there is no way to stop the shine from happening.

Thanks SSkky Reader but unfortunately I dont see iklear on the Canadian Apple online store but im going to call my local Apple tomrrow morning

Anytime burnttoast, but just remember too that human hands are naturally oily so the problem will always be there.

+1 ^^^ iKlear is the only way to go for me. I've been using iKlear on everything MB since 2007. Make sure your MBAir is turned off, and spray iKlear on the terry cloth then wipe down everything from the screen to the keyboard and outer casing. Then wipe everything down with the polishing cloth as well. So, clean with the terry cloth and polish with the polishing cloth...

Yes, iKlear will do a great job of cleaning your entire machine. I use it ALL the time. However, the shine that is on your keyboard is from "wear". The keyboard must be a bit porous, and is absorbing the oils from your fingers. The only way to stop any further wear is a keyboard cover. Because just cleaning your keyboard after use will not stop the keyboard from absorbing oils as you are typing....

The iKlear really makes a difference. I can tell from the guys who use it on their macs and the guys who don't. Good, safe product.
