Hi.

Well, it's getting dust over the glass, so time for cleaning is here.

Is the glass really strong and I can clean without problems? Or maybe should I do a special thing?

Well, I don't have any more than two smalls scrathes on my iPhone, and it is one year old and no screen protector.

The glass panel on the iMac is pretty thick and hardy. If you're just wanting to wipe dust off, use the microfiber cloth that came with the computer. If you're trying to get human oil off-- like the oil that comes from fingerprints, a tiny bit of windex applied to a smooth towel/cloth for initial wipe, then polish with microfiber.

Hmmm... I'm not sure if you should use windex. This is what Apple says about cleaning your mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3226]
It says: "Do not use window sprays or cleaning products containing ammonia, chlorine, or abrasive ingredients." I think windex contains ammonia.

I use Swiffer dusters to remove dust from my 27" iMac.:)

It does, yes, but water alone will not dissolve oil from fingerprints. One thing is for sure, you do not want to use much windex-- if any at all, on the aluminum finishing.

I just use the stuff I get from the Optometrist office for cleaning eye glasses. It's safe for all AR coatings and what not. A very small amount combined with the micro-fiber cloth.

I suggest you use only the little black cloth that Apple includes with every Mac it sells. That is its exact purpose. Swiffers or just about any other cleaner will leave a residue of some sort. Why not just use the purpose-made (and free) cloth? I have had a 24" iMac for 3 years now and that is all I have ever used.

Rich

use glass plus because it doesn't have ammonia in it. Or you can buy a small bottle of iklear. I'm still on the bottle I got 6 years ago; so it last a while.
