I use my iPadPro a good deal, and I'm frustrated about cleaning the screen. Right now I'm using iKlear and microfiber cloths, but they do only a partial job. In the end they smear the dirt around but never provide a clear screen. Any suggestions?

I find that the Zeiss pre-moistened lens cleaning towelettes (wipes) work well. In fact, my usual procedure is to use one on my glasses first, and then wipe down my phone and my iPad with it afterwards. Everything sparkles! Available at Costco and from Amazon.

Hey - I do exactly the same thing with the Zeiss brand wipes!
Some of the other brands of lens wipes smear more than they clean - that's why I stick to the Zeiss brand.

Its that OLED coating. I'm using the iKlear. When applying I will use two microfiber clothes. One to wipe the liquid off and then the other wipe the access. You probably will have to wipe in between uses, just using the microfiber cloth.

Sometime I can see moister I'm guessing from when I breathe lol . Just keep a cloth around. :)

Never ever use any cleaning methods that are used for glasses with any solution,
you will damage the oleofobic layer on the screen, and will make it even harder or impossible to remove finger prints !

The cleaning solutions do seem to make it really clean, but you will see the damage after multiple times of cleaning, and then it is too late :/

The best and only way to not damage the screen, is the microfibre cloth, and if it only smears the fingerprints, then the cloth needs to be replaced or cleaned :)
the microfibre cloth can be lightly moistened for cleaning, when it is really bad.

  • Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, and similar items that might cause damage.
  • Unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables.
  • Keep liquids away from the product.
  • Don't get moisture into any openings.
  • Don't use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives.
  • Don't spray cleaners directly onto the item.
iPad
Handle your iPad with care to maintain its appearance. If you're concerned about scratching or abrasion, you can use one of the many cases sold separately. To clean iPad, unplug all cables and turn off iPad (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, and then slide the onscreen slider). Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don't use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPad. iPad has an oleophobic coating on the screen; simply wipe iPad's screen with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oil left by your hands. The ability of this coating to repel oil will diminish over time with normal usage, and rubbing the screen with an abrasive material will further diminish its effect and might scratch your screen.

I use a few drops of water and a 100% cotton t-shirt to wipe it off. Have been doing it for years.

I bought a microfiber towel thats a little soft and plush for my car which seems to work best.

I just spray the screen with bottled water and wipe it off with Magic Fiber cloth. Works perfect.

I use a microfiber cloth and it works fine. In fact, it generally works better without using some kind of liquid solution.
