Hello All

I run both the above apps, and wish to know as I've just started to use CleanMyMac, do I still need Bitdefender (it's coming up for renewal soon)
Any views would be good.
Many thanks

Many threads here on CleanMyMac. Most are filled with posts (often by the same members) recommending that it be deleted. A few (same members) use it and think it's great! I've never felt a need to test it myself.

Thanks for your reply Gregg2, however, I think my question relates to whether I should still use Bitdefender for anti virus as CleanMyMac has anti virus capabilities too (although possibly not as good as Bitdefender?)

I have a car and a dining table. My car insurance is up for renewal, and I'm wondering if I still need the car given that I now own and use a dining table.

On a different note I am firmly convinced that both CleanMyMac and Bitdefender are completely pointless on a Mac. The only thing you need is Brain 2.0.

If you need anti virus or malware software, I recommend ClamXAV. Anti virus is a sidenote of CleanMyMac and while it has it's uses, CleanMyMac has the potential to wind up with more problems than you started with.

You can use the free, open source tools from Objective-See or do a scan using the free version of MalwareBytes instead. Really though you're very unlikely to get infected if you use an ad blocker and you don't try to steal software.

Paying for this stuff is a waste of money.
