clear background?

I am making a logo for my business and I am not sure how to make the background clear.

I have a photography business and I want to use the logo I'm making as a watermark for my photos and it doesn't look nice with a white background.

I tried using iwatermark, but the "Make White Transparent" feature doesn't work very well.

It is currently a .tiff file, but I can change it.
 
I know nothing about comic life. If you want me to fix it for ya, I have photoshop and I'm getting off work in about 20 minutes. I am not positive I know exactly how to do it, but I can give it a shot.

well you are going about it the complete wrong way. You are better off getting a professionally designed logo than using comic life (which is a comic book creation program, NOT logo creation) or getting photoshop.

I'd have to agree. It is easy to take out the background in Photoshop, but it is far better to have a professional logo. If you are pressed for funds, maybe talk to a graphic design student that is in college.

1. I'm not stupid, but thanks.

2. I don't have the money to get a professionally designed logo or to buy photoshop.

I was just asking for help, I didn't need someone to tell me something I already knew.

1. No one said you were stupid. All tominated did was suggest you an alternative to making a logo for a business in Comic Life.

2. Understandable, but there are far better alternatives to making a logo in Comic Life. Try Gimp.

It was just a piece of honest advice. (and a good piece of advice, too)
 
If you want, i could whip up one for a hundred or so bucks. I am looking for some clients so this would be pretty good. BTW: i didn't mean any offense with my last post. as aperture said, I was just suggesting.

two things I will put out there.

1. There are people on here that are more than willing to do you a favor (I'll even do it for you if you want)

2. If you want to try it yourself, there is a 30 day free trial of photoshop on adobe's website.

I have to say, this was quite a rude reply to people who were taking their time to offer you advice. A Professionally designed logo is going to be 10 times better than anything you could come up with, and it would be done in standard formats you could use cross-media. But i guess you already knew that and just don't care. I usually offer my help in things like this, because i have no problem helping someone out once and a while, but...probably not this time. Sorry, but that was just rude.

so much of the point of an online community is asking for help, and then there being people who are willing to help...

its kinda like walking arround in the carbon world, but with screens, keyboards, and VRAM
 
You would be better off designing your logo in a vector based program like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw/Painter. Vector based images can be resized with no degradation of the image. Bitmapped images (GIF/Jpeg/BMP) will degrade greatly when resized.
