In iOS 9, if you pulled down the Notification Center shade on the lock screen, any notifications on the lock screen would disappear (the same way as if you unlocked the phone). And this worked even if the Today view was the only enabled section of the Notification Center on the lock screen.

So if you had app or mail notifications and pulled down the Today view, they would no longer appear on the lock screen. When you unlocked the phone, you could pull down the Notification Center from the home screen and all the notifications would still appear there. Basically, they were just hidden from the lock screen after that action.

Now with iOS 10, the widget screen seems to have replaced the Today pull-down shade. There doesn't seem to be any way to clear notifications from the lock screen without either 1) manually clearing the notification which also clears it from Notification Center so you can't view it later or 2) unlocking and opening to the home screen then locking again.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get similar iOS 9 behavior? Not sure if I'm just missing something here. Obviously this isn't that big of an issue. Just something I noticed.

There's the widget/Today screen (on the left) and there's Notification Center access (from top) from the lock screen--does that not work?

Ah, ok. It looks like the only time there's anything to be pulled down on the lock screen is when Notifications View is enabled. And pulling down seems to be the only action that wipes the displayed notifications from the main lock screen view.
