Bought 2 new ipads off craigslist. Got them wiped and now I need to enter credentials as they are managed by a corporation. Any way to completely clear them? Would jailbreaking help? They are actually iPad Mini 1s. Thanks!

if you wiped them and got that message then the company in question is probably using a server side system that's connected to the Apple Activation server. it's set up so that if an employee tries to get cute and wipe the iPad to get around restrictions etc the profile is sent back to the device when it contacts iTunes for initial activation. so there's no way around it until the company in question removes the serial number from their list of devices. the way the system is set up you can't even get it swapped at the genius bar to get around it because the profile transfers to the new serial number.

jailbreaking might work if you can do it in a way that it doesn't contact the iTunes server to activate but I would have no idea if that's possible or how to do it

If they're corporately managed, they were probably stolen from the corporation OR the (presumably) employee sold them without authorization after their use was discontinued by the company.

or they were 'legally' sold but the seller is a moron who didn't know about how the management thing works. I have a friend who worked at a school that used that same system for school owned and issued iPads. when they upgraded to a newer model the principal gave him the okay to sell the old ones to graduating students but the principal didn't know how the system worked cause he never asked the outgoing IT guy (my friend was the replacement who hadn't yet bothered to read the notes the old guy had written about what was being used)

That would be a plausible explanation too.
