Clearance from apple store

So if I wanted to purchase the 2010 MBA after the refresh, how does the clearance system on the apple store work? How long after the refresh will it appear on the clearance portion of the site?

I assume you mean the refurbished model, rather than the "clearance" model. Anyway, I would imagine pretty quickly, within a week or two. take a look at the Apple site under the heading of "refurb" and you'll see what is available.

I think he may actually mean brand new units of the pre-refresh systems. I.e. new in box C2D units. I think this varies by stores, but I do know that some of the Apple store around me discount the units by about 100-200 bucks and sell them off to customers still wanting them.

I have always been curious about this, the still-in-box MBAs, do they stay in the box and get shipped as a refurb price or do they take it out and place it in a generic brown box and ship it?
