I went on the Apple Store website and noticed that they have some killer prices on clearance macs from the previous generation.

My question is this: Do other retailers like amazon.com, macmall.com, macconnection.com, etc. typically have clearance sales after a new generation of macs comes out?

Right now, none of these retailers is showing discounted prices or the new generation of macs. If other retailers do have clearance sales, how many days after the new macs come out, do they actually start discounting them like apple.com?

I have never been in the market for a new mac so close to a release, so I am unfamiliar with how mac retailers typically bleed off stock of the older models. Thanks for the help...

Yes, all will sell previous generation at reduced prices until they sell out. Some might post new prices this afternoon. Others only update the site daily, so it won't show until tomorrow. Regardless they have the price points, so if you call up places like MacMall, etc. they should be able to tell you what the new price is.
