Using Panther vs Jaguar, do the fonts (particularly the small fonts) on an imac or PB screen look any sharper?
Thanks

Quartz

Apple's site seems to suggest that the on screen fonts and windows might be a bit sharper. I had read this on a couple of other threads.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, and anti-aliased fonts are not going to look much different in Panther vs. Jag.
By the way, I see the thread was moved. Software. Not buying advice. Ah. I get it.
Thanks.

The other night I was working on my wife's PC in the basement. Granted, the monitor she has isn't the best. But, then I move back to my Mac with the 17" LCD Studio Display, and I couldn't get over how super sharp and clear it was compared to the CRT monitor she has.

I think people sit too close to their monitors and they can "see" the anti-aliasing of the fonts that make them "look" sharp. Or they can't get over that these "fuzzy" fonts can't possible look sharp. I don't seem to have a problem with them.
