Hello. I'm clearing my macbook in order to to sell it on. I don't have the installer disk anymore but I reinstalled mac os x by pressing cmd+s on startup and entering commands which was successful.

The part I am still struggling with is on Disk Utility: the option to erase is greyed out and although there isn't permission to open any of my files, I have no doubt that they could be recovered by somebody savvy! How do I delete my files and complete the 7- pass erase? I have been trawling forums for hours but can't find a solution that is relevant to running 10.68 (which means no option of cmd+r on reboot) and not having the installer disk. 'Security options' and 'Erase free space' are also greyed out.

I have tried using Disk Drill and Erase your Disk but unsuccessfully.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
