Clearing Maps Resent Searches

Is there a way to clean up or Delete Previous Searches in the Google Maps for the iPhone. I just recently got the phone and was playing around with it and doing a bunch of silly searches in it, and I want to delete them, so they are not an option anymore.

So I am guessing if I really want those searches gone I will need to do a full whipe?

clear maps history

select: maps > search > bookmark icon (in search bar) > recents > clear
