All Devices Clearing Notification Center notification does not clear from app

One thing I miss in iOS 13 is that when I read a message from Notification Center, it used to mark that message read in the Messages app. Since iOS 13 it no longer does.
And if you cleared the most recent message in a thread in Notification Center, it would automatically clear all the other unread before that in that thread.
I really liked that way of working, any way to get that back?

This is happening to me as well and would like it back but not found a way of doing it as yet.

So I just upgraded to iOS 13.2 and found that this problem still exists. And it is spread across my devices. So reading a notification on my iPad does not clear the notification from the other devices nor the notification of the actual message in the Messages app. If anyone has any ideas, I'd really like to get this to work!
