Nice. I don't see much different with any of the new "task" apps. This one has some categories at least. I like the fact that it syncs with ical, but you need additional software. I need to see this one in action. I wish there were app trials

tried it. Deleted it. Syncing doesn't work. The app freezes when trying to setup syncing with my mac. I should see a pairing code pop up but the app just hangs. The mac helper app was installed and running. Tried rebooting, reinstalling etc. Same problem. Will stick with things for now, and hope that they release MobileMe syncing soon. Or possibly Remember the Milk if we see their app released soon.

ok got it working, but it's very limited. You have one text field when adding a task for the name of the task and that's it! No due date/time, no tags, no notes, and you can't even edit it once it's been created! You can just mark it as complete or incomplete! Too basic for my needs.

Wow, thanks for the quick review. And like you, it sounds like it is way too basic for my needs.

Hey odelay,

I'm the developer of Clink Tasks. Basically, the simple thing is what we were going for. When I was building this thing, the object I had in my mind was to make something that would work really well with Anxiety on my Mac, which basically only stores the text and calendars, and it seems to work well enough for most people. Seriously though guys, if you have any comments/criticism/suggestions, post them here, and I'll certainly look into them.

ob81,
Yeah, a small helper app is needed for the app, thought it lives in the menu bar and except for the pairing process, you'll never see it. We kind of wish there was app trials too, but we have no way of doing it: if you're looking for an idea of the app, our website is http://clinkapps.com, and it has soom good info/screens on it, and we have a demo video (not the best quality, sorry) at: http://www.viddler.com/explore/ClinkApps/videos/1/

max, thanks for the response. It seems a good app for people who just need this basic functionality, but personally speaking, it would suit me more if I could use it to do what iCal todo lists can do, i.e. set a due date/time, and add notes. Also the ability to edit an already created task is essential.

Hey guys,
I'm a week or two away from having a finished build with notes/due dates, and a completely rewritten sync engine (probably editing in the next few days), and I'm going to need some testers. Anyone interested (free advance copy of Clink Tasks, in exchange for feedback), send me an email at max@clinkapps.com, with a subject saying you'd like to test it.

Their app is in the store. Great app. Simple, clean, easy to navigate interface. Lacks duplicate task, and like a lot of to-do apps, a month view calendar (don't care to close an app, open iCal to see the dates, and then reopen a to-do app to enter appointments or tasks). RTM would also do better with a list filter.

problems with clink tasks version 1.0

Paid $2.99 for the app. Had many problems with it:

1. unable to pair iphone and mac on one home network, had to switch to a different network

2. after pairing worked for a few hours, but then broke: the clink tasks app on the iphone is showing many duplicate tasks in many calendars, and is even showing calendars I am not currently using in iCal.

3. marking tasks done on the iphone does not mark them as done in ical, and eventually the tasks are again marked not done again on the iphone.

tried restarting both apps and restarting my mac but did not help.
