Clippy (Beta) further copy/paste support

Just seen it on Cydia, allows direct copy and paste between safari/mail. Only works for editable text as it is an extension to the virtual keyboard.
 
Only problem is that it only supports editable text. Text in webpages cant be copied because it wouldnt launch the virtual keyboard.
 
i want to like it, but every time i try to use it, the app crashes.

what other post?

what iphone are you using?
im on a 3g 16gb and the app works flawlessy, so maybe you have an issue with another app?

most people are reporting it works as advertised, if a little awkward, but it works!!!
 
The software is still in beta. Perhaps the people whining in this thread about the features, or lack thereof, could send their feedback to the developer where it might do some good.

I'm sure this is intuitive and I'm just being dense - how do you turn off clippy temporarily so that you can use the magnifier to precisely position the cursor?
 
I like the copy and paste functionality despite that you have to use the alternative "key" on the lower left hand side to make it pop up. Aside from the lag while copying the text and awkward false highlighting when trying to use the magnifier to position the cursor its awesome.
 
I must be dense. I couldn't anything to work for me. Every time I tried to select text it would appear highlighted until I lifted my finger. I then tried to tap "copy" with my second finger and still no results.
 
Niiice! Just checked on Cydia for something else and there was an update for Clippy- the fixed the loupe! Tap once and hold and it works normally, double-tap and hold and it'll select the text to copy/paste. MUCH better.

Now if only it could scroll down to select more than one screen's worth of text... :p
 
I am having a small issue with clippy. The program will not highlight in Notes. Has anyone else seen this?

You no longer highlight. Place cursor at desired starting point hit copy - place cursor at desired ending point hit copy then you are ready to paste. Confused me at first too. ;)

Actually, if you double tab either the end or beginning of a word or sentence, you can highlight whatever you like. Hope that helps!
 
Great for what it does. Would be nice to copy lines from a site. Also getting used to the tap and drag takes some getting used to. My problem is I can not tap the same place twice. My tap is not precise at all. Kinda annoying actually.
