On what basis does Apple decide which cities are included in the iPhone Clock app's list of world cities?
There are some truly inexplicable entries and omissions on the list. Here are a few examples:
- France: Tréhet (population 107) is included while major cities like Nice, Strasbourg and Toulouse are not.
- Switzerland: Naters (a municipality of 10k people) is included while Basel (a city of 178k people) is not.
- UK: London, England / Cardiff, Wales / Edinburgh, Scotland are included, but Belfast, Northern Ireland is not.
- Burma: Yangon and Rangoon (two alternative names for the same city) are both included, but Naypyidaw (the official capital city) is not.
