For every generation iPhone it took me a while to dial in the way I want. From Wifi/BT settings to apps to wallpaper, layout, just about everything, it takes time to put it together the way I want. Not sure I miss anything or did I not do it right. But every time I lost a lot from one generation to another. For example, I lost all the contact pictures from the last iPhone to iPhone 4; all the pictures I took to associate to each contact are all gone now. I know the next generation might not be fully integrate to the previous one. But is there an app that can back up all these settings just like the clone/back up program in PC/Mac that we can back up most if not all of these settings? In case we lost, broke it or upgrade to another iPhone we can easily have the next iPhone up and running the way we have in no time?

Thank you

I'd be interested in this too after my mishap upgrading to iOS4.

Is there an app or a separate program that will allow this?

It takes me the best part of a day to redo everything on my iPhone and this would be a god send...

Either a separate application that will snapshot my phone and then pop it right back to where it was (if i replace it with a new one or perform a clean/fresh install).

Anyone know of anything?

iTunes does this.

Why it didn't work in your case, I have no clue. It's always restored everything perfectly for me.

So that answer doesn't help you, I guess. You had a problem with it and I don't know why. But it's the only way I know of to fully back up everything on the phone.
