Hey guys,

I have been consistently trying to fix my iMac. It has been 6 days now, and I have tried every bit of advise given on the forum and the Apple support -- they told me to delete the data, so I lost 50GB of stuffs.

The issue is, my iMac takes at least 20 min to start-up. Loading the applications, or the browser, takes another 20 min. I did a fresh install -- like 10 times -- and nothing helps. So the next step is to clone the hard disk and use any troubleshooting tool.

Can I do this with SuperDuper? Because DW doesn't rebuilt directory when you are using the internal HD. I don't have an external HD, so I have "planned" to boot the cloned HD using a 8GB USB drive.

Edit: HD is fine, while installing the OS, the installer log displays "Darwin_user_dir" error and error in writing the cache. I have a test tomorrow, but I'd like to fix this thing before I sit down to study.
