so i got my new internal hardrive and swapped them, alll went well, but i didnt clone it because i figured time machine would put EVERYTHING to the new one, but it didnt. so my question is how do i do this?

do i have to reopen the mini and put the old back in? then what do i do? how do i clone it to new one, ik you can use disk utility, but how do i have both harddrives hooked up at once to use disk utility?

thanks

Download Carbon Copy Cloner and clone your old drive to the new one. Swap back and enjoy. Sounds like you'll need an external adapter for your HDD. They can be had at Newegg for around 20 bucks.

thermal take has a good simple unit

just drop the old hdd in it go to system preferences and pick your old hdd as the boot drive. once you boot with the old hdd go to carbon copy cloner or superduper download them and use one of them to clone the old hdd to the internal hdd. then boot the internal hdd. I prefer superduper over carbon copy cloner links

It has been claimed that utility will do it correctly. I have tried it many times and have never made a working copy.

superduper will download in 1 minute and works more then 95% of the time.

carbon copy will download fast and also has a good success rate.
I have made hundreds of clones with superduper.
I have made dozens with carbon copy cloner. it is really easy.

I am about 0 for 10 with apples disc utility.

so if you want to try it (osx disc utility) and you get it to work cool.

( i have not tried to do a disc utility copy in more then 2 years so maybe it works now)

if it does not work you can then try the free ones I gave you
