I reinstalled everything in my MBP and now when I try to put the computer in close shell mode it doesn't work as before. I close the computer and it goes to sleep... Then I hit esc in the 2nd keyboard and the computer wakes up.. Shows a blue screen and when it comes back.... Gone!!! It goes to sleep again..

Any ideas how to fix this?

Is it better to use the computer en clamshell mode anyway?.... Or is the same thing just leaving the computer open and connected to the ACD?

Is you're system completely up to date? There was an update regarding sleep issues a little while back.

As it sounds like a reinstall somehow caused this problem, you might want to reinstall again and see if it does anything.

I would recommend to check the update as well. Mine does not work in closed more 100% either, but I have better success then you are having. Also, in display properties make sure that the displays are set to mirror, but the primary (red outline) is around the external display.

Try this... Restart the machine while open, but using the external display. Close the notebook and give it a few seconds to really shut down, then tap the spacebar and be patient. Mine takes a few seconds to realize it needs to wake back up. The machines will run the same open or closed, it has no effect on temperature or anything else. You will notice the presence of the notebook display in expose with the machine open.. can be a little annoying.

I just found out what the problem was... It won't go to clamshell mode if is not connected to the AC.. if the computer is running in battery power it won't go it... now is working fine!

Thanks guys!!!
