I need to take some closeup photos with my Nikon 8700 and am having trouble getting it done.

I have the manual and have been struggling to figure it out.

Can someone point me to a step by step procedure that would get me started?

Thanks!

Te camera likely has a minimu focus distance. If the subject is closer then that you can't make it work. Well OK if the camera can be made to accept filters you can buy screw on diopters that look like filters. These will allow you to get clser. They come is various "powers" up to about 3 or 5. Typically they are sold in sets.

Use a tripod, plenty of light, set up a reflector so the shadows are filled and use the self timer so your hand does not cause camera shake

Closeups with a Nikon 8700

Thanks for the info.

What settings would I need on the camera?
