Ok, so i put an alias of my external HDD into my movies folder so i can access it from Frontrow. It plays everything perfect, but when i finish the movie and try to eject my external HDD it says it cant because front row is still using it. So every time i have to rn activity monitor to quit the process of 'Frontrow'. Is there an easier way to 'Quit' Frontrow after using it? It seems to just stay on until i shut down..

Also on the same topic when i press f12 the widgets do the same, they all stay running.... How can i quit this with out going through activity monitor? Its really annoying and not impressive when with friends haha

FrontRow runs in the background after the initial startup of the program so that you don't have to wait for it next time you want to use, same thing with Dashboard.

Because FrontRow wasn't built to play movies outside of the Movies folder under your user account (I think thats what you setup with the shortcut thing), it doesn't think to disconnect from the external drive. It just thinks its an extension of the Movies folder.

Until FrontRow officialy supports external folders/drives, I think your stuck in your current situation.

You could open up Front Row and (since you're by the computer anyway), hit, uh, Ctrl-Cmd-Esc? Either that or Ctrl-Opt-Esc. That'll nuke Front Row and should let you eject the hard drive.
