I noticed that when I close the lid at night and open in the morning..my MBA boots normally as if it was shut down..

It made my outlook pst file corrupt 2 times... ( I use the outlook 2003 under parallels with XP )

As far as I know..closing the lid should make it sleep... It was like this..but now I guess its forcing shutdown...

I checked the system preferences and couldnt find a place to change these settings...

Thanks.

3 - The default mode on machines introduced since about fall 2005. RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically.

this is what I've found for mode 3..

when I close the lid for a minute or 2... it does act like sleeping and wakes up instantly...

overnight.... no... if it goes into hibernation..it should do the same I believe..maybe 1-2 seconds more to wake up...

but my mba restarts as if it was shut down.

thanks.

Is your battery drained when you restart? I'm wondering if somehow the computer shut down because you ran out of power.

nope... my battery was like 80-90 %

do I have this known wake up/sleep issue ? I'll test it again tonite..close the lid and open next morning.. see how it goes..

I am not sure if I did press the power button or not... to turn it on...
