C'Mon Apple - What's the hold up on letting us access files on our network on ipad??

It would be awesome if we could access our music and our video content from a media server on the ipad... I have half of my dvd collection already converted to an ipad friendly format, so I would love to be able to watch it without having to copy it to the ipad. Any ideas if something like this is in the works?

Hoping it comes in OS 4.0, but guess we won't know until thursday.
