OSX have since long been plagued by inconsistency with their green toolbar button. And although savvy users like us MR members may be fine with it, or have even downloaded e.g. RightZoom to take care of the problem, it always saddens me as an enthusiast when I try to explain the button to new users and they get totally confused when trying it out in different apps (has the button in Safari pre-Yosemite ever worked - for anyone?).
But oh boy was I relieved when I read that Yosemite will finally take care of the problem, where now the button will just make the app go full screen in a new Space.
So I try it out now in TextEdit, a text edit by Apple and should therefore of course comply with the new user guide lines, and it just maximises the window...
How hard can it be to be consistent?? Besides, it makes no sense at all why this application would be "blacklisted" to inheret this new feature, I'd love to write in TextEdit with no window distraction at all.
